The Fight Never Ends.

Though some time has passed, and it seems like a lot of time. We just hear the name over and over again. We’re starting to accept it. And we need to accept it. I don’t want to, and I know most people who read this don’t want to accept it. No longer do I slightly throw up in my mouth at the thought. No longer do I choke out the name. So let’s just say it now:
Donald Trump is going to be President of the United States of America.
Protests have been never ending for the past few weeks and there should be protests. In the U.S., we have the right to protest. Get up and do it. Get out and do it. But, you don’t need to light anything on fire. There’s no reason to vandalize. You can protest, but do it peacefully.

But, at the same time, go and protest. We have the right. We have the ability. Donald Trump is going to be president. We can’t change that now. But we can remind him and others that we aren’t going to sit by and be ignore. We’re going to protest his policies and what he says. We are going to fight, because the fight never ends.
Whether it is a sit in or we’re taking over a highway, protesting needs to happen. Because we’re fighting against them. We’re protesting them. Our Congressmen and women are supposed to speak for us, but somehow we are being ignored. So we must speak for ourselves.
If your Congressman or woman isn’t with your political views, you are going to have to call them every day. You’re going to have to annoy them every day. No longer should it be about parties. You should hear my voice, Congressman. I have a republican congressman, and I am one of your constituents (voters). It is your turn to listen to me and respond to what I say with action, whether you or not agree with it.

If, in fact, most of your constituents are pro-choice, you should be fighting for what we want, not what you want. It is time for to no longer fight for yourself. You need to fight for us, your constituents, and you need to speak for us. You have been selfish, and it’s time for you give back.
The fight never ends, so your fight is just beginning, Congress. Try listening to your constituents, all of them, not just the ones who voted. Listen to the teenagers in high school who can’t vote yet. They’ll be your voters someday. Listen to the college students who are off at college but come home for holidays and on weekends. Listen to the new families who have just moved into the area. Listen to the old families who have lived there for generations. Listen to the older generation who has seen a lot. And then decide what’s the appropriate action to take.
You might have run on a platform of republican or democrat, but now it’s time to no longer have those. You speak for your constituents. Do that now, Congress. Because we’re not going to quiet down now, because now we have tasted freedom, loss, respect, sadness, joy, anger, tolerance and pain. We know these feelings; we know what we want. And we want someone to listen.
So stop being republican or democrat. You got into this business, a public servant, not for yourself. You did this to help people. Or at least that’s the hope. If you’re power hungry, go somewhere else. You shouldn’t be republican or democrat. You should be for your people, and we are all your people. You are public servant. Serve me. Listen to what I have to say. You may not agree with it, but it is your job to act upon it. No longer is it about going far right or far left, because most of your voters aren’t that way. It is about moving forward together. The fight never ends.
Like, we, the voters, will not stop fighting.
Like, we, the voters, who are protesting.
We want our voices heard. We will not stop until our voices are heard. We want change. We want respect. We want tolerance. We want hope. To be honest, that isn’t a difficult task. We don’t ask for much, as voters, even if we didn’t vote for you, because it’s your job to speak for us. If you can’t speak for us, we’ll scream louder so someone does.
Fighting doesn’t stop, like protesting doesn’t stop. Perhaps the protests will calm down soon. Perhaps we’ll all go home and forget about it. But I don’t think we will. We will calm down; we will learn to accept. And we’ll go home but we won’t forget about it. It might be through hashtags or texts, maybe we’ll call you, because we won’t get about hate. Hate stays with us. It is burned into our brains.
Donald Trump may have said something nice or great today, but do you remember that time he said… or he did this… or he said this other thing.
No one forgets that. The fight continues on a different platform in a different way. The fight never ends because it shouldn’t. The fight isn’t just about president or congress. It’s about changing and evolving. It’s about being better and doing better. We should have been fighting through Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and all the people before. If Hillary Clinton had become president, we should be fight there. And now we’re going to continue the fight through Donald Trump. The only thing different about Donald Trump is that there is a lot to protest. So the fighting continues.

The United States of America is a peaceful country; we only kill each other sometimes. But then again, we’re America! The thing we do best is revolt. We are part of never ending rebellion. The people who came to America and the people who still come to America are not your usual people. We are fighters. We are doers. We’re all unique, and we all get together. We are muts and we mix. So we’re going to revolt. We’re going to add ourselves into this rebellion that is the United States of America. We’re going to keep fighting. The fight never ends.
